July 21, 2018 - "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me"
Going through the book, I fell the pain of the mother who had lost her child. Here is the big lesson for the American youth ,how many youth had lost their life in their early ages because of the drugs. One ,who go through the book definitely have the words of gratitude to Cliff who hold the hand of Lori when she is in the sorrowful condition. Moreover I suggest that everyone have to go through this book once to know how to collect the strength to overcome the bad situations.

"Wanted a good supper, waited to late to thaw, then cook etc. So I got brave and pulled out my pressure cooker Keith got me for Christmas, it's old school style, no instructions because he put them somewhere. So I made ribs that fell off the bone, I was able to breathe again by then lol but I also wanted something sweet but not to sweet so I baked a peach cobbler out of my "Well Butter My Butt and Call Me A Biscuit" cookbook from Lori.. it was all soo good!"

March 31, 2017 - 5 out of 5 stars - When Tomorrow Starts Without Me
A must read! Recently, drawn by the haunting title, I purchased this book from Kindle. It broke my heart and when I tried to share it with my mother, she just broke down crying. Why? Because 7 years ago, she was forced to say goodbye to her youngest child as a result of non--natural causes and tomorrow unexpectedly started without my 15 year old sister. So many people accused and judged her despite not knowing the situation, said she was just putting on a show (at the hospital & funeral) and didn't deserve any sympathy. It has given her great comfort to know that other mothers regardless of background or race had also felt her indescribable devastation and pain.

March 14, 2017 4 out of 5 stars - When Tomorrow Starts Without Me
This was a moving and poignant book. I will give it that. Ms. Plegge pulls no punches, readily admits that her oldest son was no angel, and she made many mistakes throughout his rough and turbulent life. You have to respect someone who puts it all out there for the world to see. To be honest, I as a young childfree woman in my early 20s, I had no idea what a mother might feel or experience when her child dies, particularly if the mother/child relationship was not good. Out of the wide range of emotions displayed in this book, one was noticeably absent, relief. When Ms. Plegge finally broke down and cried for Anthony, realizing they'd never meet again in this system of things, I was stunned, because I thought after everything, she would be relieved to be able to close that chapter of her life since she seemingly never truly loved or cared about him to begin with. Again a remarkably human and poignant story. My chief complaint about this book is the lack of true closure. While I initially had my doubts about the circumstances of Anthony's death, I found myself outraged at the gross incompetency of both the local authorities and even the hospital he died at. No proper medical examination(the supposed "poison test" was pure quackery!) or police investigation and little more than a cursory autopsy. How does Ms. Plegge sleep at night knowing her son's death was written off and swept under the rug? This book in and off itself, is a powerful wake-up call to mothers everywhere and worthwhile read in general, but there's definitely room for a follow up.

January 2, 2017 - 5 out of 5 stars - Well Butter My Butt & Call Me a Biscuit.
I didn't need another cookbook, but.... My family and I visited Cane Creek State Park in Arkansas this past weekend, and this cookbook was in the Gift Shop/Visitor Center. I didn't need another cookbook, but how can you turn down a book with a title like this? I sure couldn't. This is a great collection of tried-and-true recipes from Lori and her family and friends. There are also a lot of funny southern sayings and their definitions, as well as good tips for the home cook. Many of the recipes are some that I already have, but a lot are new and there is a great variety. Cookbooks like this are my favorite kind, because these are recipes that people actually cook, I can also find the ingredients in my small town. I have already made one of the cornbread recipes, which was excellent, and I plan on trying many more. I don't know the author personally, but I can tell she is a very nice, sincere person who loves to cook and share with others. Well done!

I love how a vast amount of the recipes all have their own back stories and that they were taken from a large amount of people. Easily the best cook book I've ever purchased. March 5, 2015 - 5.0 out of 5 stars "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me." Wonderful way to commentate him. I finished this book in a day! I know her as a coworker and never in a million years would've guessed she has gone through this and continues to live with this. She's a very strong person, as anyone who has lost a child is. The way she talks about him I felt I knew him. He was quite the character! I really like how the book is written. As if she's right there. Very detailed. At times I felt I was there.

November 10, 2014 - 5.0 out of 5 stars "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me." Disclaimer: The Author’s husband, is my very favorite nephew and I have known the author for several years. I was not aware that she was a writer until she mentioned to me that she had written a book titled “When Tomorrow Starts Without Me,” and upon inquiry discovered it was about her first born son. Having read the book, “When Tomorrow Starts Without Me,” I can unequivocally state this is a love story between a loving, affectionate mother and a young son who at times made it extremely difficult for that love to continue, but it did. This is a story of a tragic life that ended much too soon, but the story of a mother’s love during that young man’s entire life and following his untimely passing. "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me."The book will be an inspiration to mother’s who read this whether they have a troubled child or not. For those who have troubled children it will be a revelation; for those who do not have troubled children, it will make them a much more appreciative and loving parent, then they already are. I recommend this book to all mothers.

October 22, 2014 - 5.0 out of 5 stars "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me." Lori's book deals seriously with some of the deepest themes of human existence: the nature of evil, the grip of fate and the power of love. When she finally met Cliff, the love of her life, she was able to accept her great loss. We are all God's children. Godspeed to all.

September 12, 2014 - 5.0 out of 5 stars "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me." As reviewed by my wife Yoshiko! This review is from: When Tomorrow Starts Without Me: The Loss of a Child (Kindle Edition)
I really enjoyed this book! It was well written and easy to follow even though English is my second language. I was expecting the book to be a sad story, as books normally written about the loss of a loved one are. But what I found was much much more..Lori wrote about the good times and bad times of her life with Anthony. I felt as if I were with her the entire time, or rather carried a piece of her with me.
I see that God sent Anthony into the light and left Lori with so many great memories to help her thorough the grief. It felt as if Anthony was her by her side as she was writing their story, knowing they were helping others, together. I recommend this book very highly. Thank you for sharing your story!

5.0 out of 5 stars "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me." Lori Plegge's book is amazing. This book will make you laugh, but then make you cry all at the same time. This Author and I have something in common, I have a son and she had a son. This book made me realize that we all change and sometime it's not for the best. As mothers we will give our last to our kids, but eventually they grow and become who they choose to be and it's hard but we have to let them fly. You can tell by reading this book that Lori Pledge was an awesome loving mother. The difference between this books and other books I have read is that this one states facts and the details in the book hits so close to home. A lot of people can relate to it. Go out and purchase this book! I can't wait until Lori Plegge writes another book. She is an AWESOME Author.

March 7, 2014 - 5.0 out of 5 stars Tears to joy. "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me." I downloaded the book earlier tonight and finished it. Lori Plegge has a conversation with her readers. I will read it again.

February 5, 2014 5.0 out of 5 stars "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me." This Book has touched my heart and it has also opened my eyes. "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me" is a great book because not only does it help other parents that have lost a child, it also recognizes parents that are dealing with children with behavioral disorders. Some people may not understand that it is not easy raising a child with behavioral problems in the same home with other children. Another topic that touched me was raising children with a blended family. You have to be compromise and work with the other children. "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me" is an awesome book. I was glad I was able to get a message from it.

January 29, 2014 5.0 out of 5 stars - "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me." Grab your Kleenex and get ready... I read this book, as the author is someone I have known for many years from our small town in Arkansas. I knew it was written for and about her son, Anthony, but had no idea it would so deeply affect me the way it did. Reading this book, I had to stop numerous times because so much of what she had written brought out my own feelings of grief, as I recently lost my mother in October of 2013...I found so many similarities in our situations, even though we lost different family members - grief is grief. I found myself turning page after page, my eyes constantly filling with tears and at times just had to put my Kindle down and walk away, starting the story again later on. Finally finished today, and am SO glad she has Cliff, the love of her life, to help her through the grieving process. I myself will start crying at the oddest times and my husband just walks over and holds me until I'm done. Anyone who has lost a loved one, especially a child, will gain much insight from this compelling and heartbreaking tribute to the life of a wonderful young man who was so loved by many. Lori, it takes a strong and courageous woman to complete this task of love...And you are that woman now. Wishing you and Cliff all the happiness in the world.

December 13, 2013 5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing and candid story. "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me." This is an unflinching look at the good, the bad, the unthinkable. It is every parents' worst nightmare. An amazing tribute, heart wrenching at times, mixed with funny stories about an amazing young man taken too soon from this life. Lori doesn't sugar coat or omit, she has boldly written a story detailing both the life and death of her son. This isn't just a book to help parents to cope with the death of a child, it is for every parent of a child. I went through the entire spectrum of emotions reading this: from joy, to anger, to sadness. It has been a long time since a book provoked such a range. I highly recommend this book.
